MECHANICALLY-ASSISTED OFFICE MAXTOR

Brownbuilt has developed a system to mechanically-assist Brownbuilt Office Maxtor units, both for new units and as a retrofit to existing systems. The design utilises a tensioned chain, located within a base-mounted channel, that provides positive-drive via a console-mounted wheel or handle. This positive-drive mechanism is not as susceptible to wear as friction-drive systems.

ROLLED UPRIGHT COVER PANEL

Brownbuilt has released a new dress panel design that can be utilised on both static and mobile shelving to cover the shelf clip perforations in the upright. The cover panel is affixed internally to the upright by screws and extends across the width of the upright, leaving the rolled post uncovered. This allows standard, rubber upright buffers to be fitted to the rolled posts for Maxtor Mobile Storage installations.

ROLL-OUT STORAGE DRAWERS

Brownbuilt has released a range of roll-out storage drawers to suit Brownbuilt Office Products. The design has been based on Brownbuilt's proven roll-out suspension filing frame and comprises a 100mm high, welded drawer assembly supported by ball bearing runners. The drawer is also fitted with a finger-grip handle for ease of operation.

The new roll-out storage drawers have been designed with a channel-shaped divider, which can be specified to create compartments within the drawer, running front-to-rear. The storage drawers can be converted to store Data or Audio Compact Discs with a kit comprising moulded extrusions that are fitted into the bottom of the drawer.

These extrusions run across the width of the drawer and allow stored to be flipped forward or backward to assist with disc location. A CD Holder Divider is also available to separate discs along the width of the drawer.

BROWNBUILT ALADDIN

Brownbuilt has extended its' bolted mobile design to the Aladdin Maxtor mobile storage system, replacing the existing welded mobile construction. The bolted mobile design will facilitate delivery and site access, and support upgrade from mechanical-assisted to electrical operated mobiles.

BROWNBUILT METALUX ON THE MOVE

Brownbuilt Metalux Industries, local manufacturer of Brownbuilt Office and Industrial storage systems in West Australia, has relocated its sales and manufacturing facility from Osborne Park to Welshpool effective from 23 September 2002.

BROWNBUILT WARATAH CUPBOARD

Brownbuilt has added a 680mm high tambour door cupboard height to its Waratah range. The new cupboard model has been developed in response to market demand for an "Under Desk" unit, and will be available in 900mm, 1050mm and 1200mm widths.

Brownbuilt has introduced a new concept for its static and Maxtor® mobile shelving systems with its' Brownbuilt Select consultancy. Brownbuilt's ongoing development of shelving over 70 years has resulted in Australia's most comprehensive range of office and industrial, static and mobile storage systems. Where storage requirements dictate a customised solution, Brownbuilt storage consultants and engineers can design and manufacture an individual installation with tailored dimensions to maximise storage capabilities.

BROWNBUILT OFFICE MAXTOR®

Brownbuilt has extended the specifications for the Office Maxtor Mobile Storage System with the development of 2150mm high cabinets. This product enhancement has been made in response to market demand for seven (7) levels of file storage with shelves or accessories at 300mm centres.

BROWNBUILT LOCKERS

Brownbuilt has introduced a three tier locker to its market leading range of metal lockers. Available in both 300mm and 375mm widths, this new locker model extends the Brownbuilt range, which comprises door configurations from one to eight tier units.

BROWNBUILT OFFICE STORAGE SYSTEMS

Brownbuilt has launched a number of significant product improvements to its' market leading range of metal office storage systems. Adopting a cohesive, stylish, family identity the Brownbuilt office storage range acknowledges that work environments require more than one form of filing and storage, along with increasing levels of operational quality and safety.

Brownbuilt Anti-Tilt Filing Cabinet:
The new Brownbuilt vertical filing cabinet features a new two-stage, ball-bearing runner system with a standard drawer lock-out mechanism to prevent more than one drawer being opened at a time. Anti-drift buffers in the runner design reduce metal-to-metal contact and retain drawers when closed for additional safety.

Brownbuilt's renowned quality and engineering is ensured with a painted full height drawer body, welded internal support frame, welded top and runners rated at 30kg load for over 50,000 drawer cycles.

Brownbuilt Legato® Filing Cabinet:
Brownbuilt Pty Limited has upgraded its Legato vertical filing cabinet model with the ball bearing runner system, as utilised in the new Anti-Tilt filing cabinet, replacing the former cradle-runner assembly.

Brownbuilt Hinged Door Cupboards:
Brownbuilt cupboards now feature a new finger-grip handle design, common to Brownbuilt vertical and lateral filing cabinets, and mobile pedestals for integrated office aesthetics. The functionality of Brownbuilt cupboards has been retained with a three-point key locking system and a wide range flexible storage accessories and configurations.

Brownbuilt Pty Limited has released an upgraded Namco Dimension vertical filing cabinet design onto the Australian market.

The new Dimension features a modern, ball bearing runner system, replacing the former cradle-runner assembly, further enhancing its' position as Australia's leading value cabinet.

MAXTOR® MOBILE VIDEO STORAGE

Brownbuilt has developed a modified version of its market leading Office Maxtor mobile storage unit, to specifically store video cassettes. The Video Maxtor utilises standard base sections and mobiles, with unique 162mm deep double-face storage cabinets. 146mm deep shelves, supported by magiclips, are fitted with front retaining strips to prevent video cassettes from being dislodged as the mobiles are moved. Single-face mobiles and plinths are not utilised due to the inherent stability factors concerned with the relationship of carcass height:depth. January 2001

MAXTOR® MOBILE STORAGE SYSTEMS

Brownbuilt has re-launched its market leading range of mobile storage systems under the model name MAXTOR. Maxtor units retain all the features and benefits that have established Brownbuilt as the leading supplier of mobile storage in Australia. Maxtor systems are available to suit office through to industrial applications, from platform-based units manually operated units for offices through to the electrically-operated Aladdin system.

NAMCO SELF-ASSEMBLY HOMEFILE® CABINET

Brownbuilt Pty Limited has released a "Self-Assembly" version of its successful Homefile cabinet for the SOHO market.

Complementing the existing Homefile cabinet design, the new "Self-Assembly" unit has been designed for non-technical, user-assembly without the need for any hardware or special tools.

Brownbuilt has upgraded its' Profile filing cabinet with the introduction of a number of specification changes:

SALE OF BROWNBUILT PTY LIMITED

The Chairman of John Shearer (Holdings) Limited, Mr. Andrew W.Gwinnett, has announced the purchase of Brownbuilt Pty Limited, from Email Limited as of 8 December 1998.

John Shearer (Holdings) Limited is part of the Arrowcrest Group, a diversified manufacturing group with its head office located in Adelaide, South Australia. The Arrowcrest Group includes ROH Wheels Limited, ROH Auto Products Philippines Inc; John Shearer (Holdings) Limited, Unicast Diecastings Pty Ltd and Steelbilt.

The range of products produced by the Group companies include steel and aluminium alloy wheels, aluminium die cast components, steel pressings, bulk storage tankers, waste compaction units, cultivating and seeding implements, and specialty storage systems.

LEGATO® FILING CABINET

The Brownbuilt Legato filing cabinet design has been upgraded with the development of a new high-sided drawer body, extending its reputation for engineering reliability and quality.

Legato's new high-sided, box drawer body design is manufactured from zinc coated steel using high precision tooling to ensure quality and durability. Suspension files are supported along the top of each side by PVC extrusions for ease of movement and access.

The new high-sided drawer body reduces file damage and prevents loss of files into the cabinet. Drawers can also be specified with optional divider plates.

LATCHLOCK

Brownbuilt is proud to announce the introduction of the Latchlock facility to its range of lockers, further extending the flexibility of Australia's largest range of metal lockers. The Latchlock features a durable zinc alloy housing and finger-grip handle section which are locked together when a padlock is inserted through the handle. Padlock shackles up to 8.00mm in diameter can be accommodated by the Latchlock housing for secure storage. The Latchlock is available in both single and 3-point locking configurations to suit full length, 2-tier, 4-tier, 8-tier and Half-height Brownbuilt lockers.

ALADDIN®

Brownbuilt has introduced a number of significant improvements to its market leading electrically-operated Maxtor® system- Aladdin.

The Aladdin systems upgrade has included the incorporation of the latest developments in PLC technology and electric controls, so that Aladdin exceeds current relevant legislation.

Operator safety is ensured with both primary and secondary systems as standard, with a new diagnostic LED indicator system for improved systems management and operation.
