| When
leading spare parts and auto paint supplier
McGrath Parts & Paint relocated to their
larger two-acre warehouse at Moorebank, racking
and shelving were obviously a prime requirement
in the $2 million upgrade. As suppliers of components
for Holden, Isuzu, Daewoo, Mazda and Mitsubishi,
McGrath carries over 50,000 lines in an endless
variety of shapes, sizes and packaging - ranging
from washers to vehicle body panels.
The company chose
Brownbuilt pallet racking and shelving to make
the best use of the enlarged storage area (over
5000 square metres in area with 540 square metres
of raised storage and 265 of pallet racking).
Having previously
used Brownbuilt, McGrath again found their
storage solutions the most practical, flexible
and cost-effective.Existing components were
upgraded with new Brownbuilt systems to provide
an easy-to-use, adaptable storage facility-with
all work completed to a demanding deadline.

Key
considerations included ease of access and order picking,
ease of re-stocking, extension of existing small parts
storage systems and provision for McGrath's planned 20%
growth to accommodate the greater number of components
used in new vehicle models.
