PROJECTS: Brownbuilt Products Supplied: Shelving The Australian Geological Survey Organisation (AGSO) is Australias national geological survey and largest geoscientific organisation, providing independent information to the federal government. When AGSO decided to relocate their expanding operations they faced the challenges of consolidating all parts of the organisation within a single site and re-housing a national sample and data collection archive. Brownbuilts long term relationship with AGSO, developed over 40 years of supplying specialised storage equipment, meant that it had a unique understanding of their requirements for the relocation of existing equipment and supplying new storage systems to suit various departmental needs. Working closely in association with storage consultants, Gutteridge, Haskins and Davey, Brownbuilts proposal included the development of a unique high-rise artefacts storage facility. Existing Medium-duty Brownbuilt shelving was re-configured and integrated into a new Brownbuilt Pallet Racking structure. Specialised scissor-lift access systems and height-adjustable retrieval trolleys were designed to meet strict O.H.& S requirements. Relocating the existing storage systems included Brownbuilt UnichannelŇ shelving and Maxtor mobile storage systems within a stringent schedule to minimise client disruption. By selecting Brownbuilt storage products AGSO benefited from Brownbuilts unrivalled experience in designing and providing innovative and practical storage solutions designed for ease of use. The new AGSO site has resulted in a world class geo-science research facility completed within a budget of $110 million and utilising a cost effective combination of existing storage with unique, specialised sample handling systems.
